Junior Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) engineer (d/f/m)

Team and Mission:

This position is driven mainly by new developments impacting VMS with close relationship with teams in DON, such as X8, X9 or Tiger MK3. You will work with the other people of the VMS team located in DON, being the direct interface with SDR, Flight tests, project, safety, ... and liaising with the rest of the team in MAR.

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• You will support the development of vehicle and engine management functions in interface with vehicle systems and Avionic systems
• One after another you will take over the resposibility over parts of the functional chain that controls and commands the vehcle systems such as fuel, engine, MGB, electrical, hydraulic, landing gear, wheel brake, hoist, ... with Avionics.
• You are part of a multi-systems team and motivate everybody to ensure requirement capture (co-design with vehicle SDR, architects, ...) and a mature design definition
• You work in close collaboration with all required stakeholders: Vehicle SDR, HMI, Safety, Flight Tests, Flight controls, Aircraft Performance, Systems Architects, System Test team
• You will use, as much as possible MBSE approach (Model Based Systems Engineering) for validation, design and rapid prototyping
• You will perform all V-Cycle activities: specification, high level design and low level design (SCADE), validation, test and will produce certification artifacts. In the frame of testing activity, you may contribute to bench test or flight test instrumentation definition
• You will be contributing to the design maturity, and you will need to use different test means such as simulation (VIP), system RIGs, Helicopter Zero, etc.
• You support flight testing activity (crew brief/debrief) and analyse flight test data.
• You help to ensure the consistency of VMS design function across all the helicopter fleet
